The Paul Truesdell Podcast

Real Talk for Real People

Welcome to my corner of the podcasting universe. I'm Paul Truesdell Sr., and this is where we cut through the noise to discuss what actually matters in life and business. My eldest son Paul joins me regularly, along with a rotating cast of interesting characters who bring their own perspectives to our conversations.

What We're About

This isn't your typical feel-good podcast. We're here to share hard-earned wisdom, tell compelling stories, and engage with people who appreciate straight talk. We discuss history, business, philosophy, and life lessons with the kind of candor that's become increasingly rare in today's sanitized media landscape.

Our Schedule

New episodes typically drop on Sundays and Wednesdays, though we publish when we have something worthwhile to say rather than adhering to arbitrary deadlines. Quality over quantity, always.

About Your Host

I've been working since I was twelve years old. As of 2021, I've logged approximately 185,000 hours of professional experience—that's equivalent to 90 years for someone working a standard 40-hour week. I'm nowhere near done.

My interests span from literature (I read at least one book weekly) to programming, golf, fine dining, and creating content that challenges conventional thinking. I believe in traditional values, personal responsibility, and the importance of building something meaningful rather than simply consuming what others create.

Our Philosophy

We operate on what I call The Truesdell Golden Rule: "Treat others the way you want to be treated, but expect the same in return, without exception." This three-part framework guides how we engage with the world and forms the foundation of our discussions.

We Believe That

- History provides the best roadmap for understanding current events

- Personal responsibility trumps victimhood every time

- Merit matters more than credentials

- Most problems have been solved before—we just need to study the solutions

Who This Is For

Our audience consists of thinking adults who appreciate direct communication and aren't easily offended. If you're looking for validation, participation trophies, or someone to tell you that mediocrity is acceptable, you'll find better content elsewhere.

We Cater To

- Entrepreneurs and business owners

- Students of history and human nature

- People who value intellectual honesty over political correctness

- Those who understand that life is challenging and preparation beats complaining

What to Expect

Each episode combines practical wisdom with historical context, seasoned with personal anecdotes and the occasional provocative observation. We don't shy away from controversial topics, but we approach them with facts and reasoned analysis rather than emotional rhetoric.

Topics Frequently Include

- Business strategy and entrepreneurship

- Historical parallels to current events

- Personal development and character building

- Cultural observations and social commentary

- Investment philosophy and economic trends

Fair Warning

This content is designed for adults who can handle unvarnished truth. We don't use trigger warnings, safe spaces, or gentle language when discussing difficult subjects. If you prefer content that validates your existing beliefs rather than challenging them, this probably isn't the right fit.

We respect intelligence and reward engagement, but we have no patience for those who want to debate without doing their homework first.

The Bottom Line

Life is complex, history is instructive, and most people need to hear uncomfortable truths more than comfortable lies. We're here to provide perspective based on decades of real-world experience, extensive reading, and genuine care for those willing to do the hard work of thinking critically about the world around them.

Subscribe if you're ready for conversations that matter. Skip it if you're not.
