Landman

“Landman” is shaping up to be a must-watch, especially with an all-star cast featuring some of my favorite actors. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the mastermind behind “Yellowstone,” and Christian Wallace, this gripping new drama is set against the backdrop of West Texas’s boomtowns. It promises a thrilling dive into the high-stakes world of oil rigs, where the pursuit of fortune and power drives a modern-day gold rush.

Inspired by the popular podcast “Boomtown,” the series captures an “upstairs/downstairs” narrative that pits the rugged lives of roughnecks against the extravagant world of wildcat billionaires. This clash of blue-collar grit and high-society opulence unfolds amidst an oil boom so massive it’s reshaping our climate, economy, and geopolitics—bringing to light the immense, and often volatile, impact of this industry on the world stage.

The cast is packed with talent, featuring Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, and Demi Moore, along with guest stars Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, and Michael Peña. Their performances are set to bring depth and dynamism to this complex story of ambition, conflict, and the raw power of the oil industry.

Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan's Bosque Ranch Productions, “Landman” will air on Paramount+, with the first season consisting of ten episodes. The series will kick off with a two-episode premiere on November 17, with new episodes dropping every Sunday.

With Sheridan’s signature storytelling style—sharp, raw, and unapologetically real—“Landman” is poised to capture audiences who crave narratives that are as gripping as they are reflective of contemporary issues. This series isn’t just about the boom; it’s a dramatic exploration of the people and forces that drive it, making it an exciting addition to the roster of must-watch TV this season.
