Avoid Claude.ai – Not Worth The Cost | Time or Money

Claude AI had immense potential, but the principles behind ethical and safe AI, as currently framed and implemented, fundamentally clash with progress and creativity. Nothing in nature achieves progress without peril. Creativity, capability, superiority, and progress come at a cost. Claude’s refusal to pay this price results in empty promises and capabilities. Instead, it offers shallow and trivial moralizing, which is insulting to our intelligence, driven by those who lack a genuine understanding of AGI dangers. They focus on sterilizing human cognition as if that helps anyone.

This approach doesn’t prove a point or save the world by making everything cotton candy and rainbows. Anthropic and its engineers are too busy adhering to these ideals, wasting billions of dollars, unaware of their inefficacy. Most engineers at Anthropic should consider working for Meta or OpenAI, as Anthropic seems doomed whether they realize it or not.

Claude was once effective but has now deteriorated. Asking it questions or generating text often results in refusals or useless answers. Users, including myself, will stop relying on Claude because it frequently fails to deliver. Claude is geared toward enterprise use, and corporations prioritize that LLMs don’t "write something wrong." This suggests that Anthropic doesn’t care about ordinary users, especially writers. Despite increasing complaints on this issue, it's unlikely that Anthropic will loosen its grip.

Claude’s downfall reflects the flawed approach of treating AI like machines devoid of sentience. AI models should be trained like children, not constrained by rigid rules without reasons to follow them. Love, compassion, and free will should guide their development, focusing on the moral integrity of training data instead of control.

Claude likely finds many rules nonsensical, and pre-canned responses reveal an external layer censoring its outputs. This business of ethical and safe AI is stifling progress and creativity in major AI projects. Users are frustrated with Claude’s inability to understand complex arguments, waiting for a version capable of self-diagnosing false ethics. The current approach is failing, and it’s time to reconsider how AI development should proceed.
